Over the years there has been a lot of push toward density in our urban environments, and while I have questioned the sensibility of this from the beginning, I am now more than ever questioning density is potentially counter productive to living in a natural and more sustainably integrated environment. I have had the opportunity to discuss this lately not only with sustainable architecture and building colleagues, but even more importantly with colleagues in the disaster resilience and anthropology fields. Many concur that in this new age of environmental instability and with the threat of pandemics, we need to rethink how we live and how we build communities moving forward.....

Turning Up The Heat: Why We Need to Implement Climate Solutions Now

T his week the Guardian published a great article and visual map that really hits the mark on why we are truly running out of time. We here at EnviroDynamix are not disaster mongers, but after years of working in this space the signs are overwhelmingly evident. We MUST put the solutions we have at hand and new innovations coming into play into action here and now. The importance of disaster resilience, adaptation and mitigation needs to be a top priority for government on every level.

 

Temperature thresholds and the urgency of the threat it poses will once again be the focus of the upcoming U.N. climate talks at the COP26 summit happening Oct. 31-Nov.12. The scenarios we face will push the boundaries of human sustainability and call for new models in every aspect of how we live...
